This website was created to promote the Friday Night Roundtable Discussion Net
which takes place every Friday night at 9:00 p.m. on the 146.85 repeater (WD0HWT),
heard in east central Minnesota and west central Wisconsin (or perhaps even a wider area.)
Take a look at the new ARCHIVES interface. While
you are at it, you can see The Shack and a nice
picture of Kizmit The Cat
Make sure you stop into the IRC channel and meet our new Bot hamBot_ !!
The J-Pole Calculator.
Check In Online
For those of you who would like to check in to the Friday Night Round Table Net can do so online.
Fill out this
simple form and away you go!!
Live Net Lineup
Join us here on this website for a "live" lineup card from the Friday Night Round Table
Net each Friday night starting at 9:00 p.m. Central Time. The Nets have gone as late as midnight, it all depends on
how many people check in and how talkative the participants are. Watch the progress of
the Net as it occurs. Know when your turn is coming up. Review announcements, questions and comments made during the Net.
Streaming Audio
Listen to the Net online using this streaming audio link. You will need
Winamp to listen...
Internet Relay Chat
You can also participate in the Friday Night Roundtable Discussion Net online chat
sessions with any IRC client (including the FREE FireFox add-on
ChatZilla).
The Net Control Operator and the Internet Control Operator generally won't participate too much during the Nets, they
are too busy doing the things required by their roles. Everybody else should feel free to join in on the
Online Chat. Come in and meet hamBot_, our new IRC Bot friend.
If the link doesn't work, just run your
IRC client program, connect to dal.net ( type
/server irc.dal.net:6667 ) and type
/join #fridaynightroundtable.net
These stand alone clients seem to be popular mIRC,
ViRC and
XiRCON
Once you have ChatZilla or a stand alone IRC client installed,
select this link irc://dalnet/fridaynightroundtable.net.
When you get in the channel, please change your nickname to your callsign so we know who you are! You can change
your nickname by typing /nick <Your Callsign>.
IRC is the ORIGINAL chat room.
Here are some pointers on operating
IRC.
Archives
Here are the text archives of previous Friday Night
Roundtable Discussion Nets. At this point there are no audio archives. If anyone is interested in recording the nets for
archiving, please send email to webmaster (at) fridaynightroundtable.net. Thanks.
